The estate has been an exclusively family business spanning three generations. Félix Meyer (1877-1964) was the founder of the domain. He purchased the house which is the headquarters of operations and he began growing the vines.

In 1992, Félix, the elder son of François and Nicole returned to the domain and developed export sales. He modernised the installations and equipment and, in perfect accord with his father, has made his mark upon the wines and growing methods. He is currently involved in extending the domain by diversifying the terroirs and the grands crus.

The vineyard covers 18 hectares and 7 communes, namely Katzenthal, Ammerschwihr, Ingersheim, Riquewihr, Kientzheim, Colmar and Bennwihr.

The nature of the soils, the relief of the land and levels of exposure are very varied. The soils range from poor quality filtering alluvial deposits (Colmar) to rich, deep clayey sandstone land (Riquewihr), with granite in between (Katzenthal).

The reliefs range from the flat (Colmar) to the very steeply sloping (Katzenthal). The degrees of exposure are also very varied, ranging from the cooler western part which is suitable for the earlier vine types to the south-facing part which is very warm and sunny.
